GW Crash Problem - Error Log & System Specs Posted
Hi, I thought I would post here and see if anyone could help me out. ANet Tech support couldn't do squat! Anyway here are my system specs.
All devices run with latest drivers and I have done the spyware check, the virus check, and defragmented all the drives.
The game was reinstalled.
All heat sink components are using Arctic Silver 3.
CPU: 64-bit AMD Athlon 64 processor (Socket 754) w/Thermaltake Venus 12
Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo Platinum w/ NForce 3 Chipset
Memory: 512MB Geil Single Channel PC3200 400MHz DDR
Video: ATI Radeon 9800 XT 128mb w/VGA Silencer by Artic Cooling & Copper Ram Sinks
I continually get the crash log below..
(1) GrFontBuildModel(): Extremely frequent calls. 5 pages allocated.
(2) Texture '' file not found
(2) Linked item specifies a custom color but uses a model file 2137d that does not define an armor texture.
So does that mean something is wrong with my machine? Heat related? My system runs at normal temps. Or is there a problem with the game not being able able to find a custom color that uses a model file 2127d that does not define an armor texture?
I'm also noticing that after i crash and log back in and ask people around me.. "did you just crash too?" they answer with "yes, I just crashed too" isn't that something?
Although I do have other crashes besides this one, but one strange thing is that I never get a BSOD, I only get crashed to the GW report program, or crash to desktop, or crash restarts.

Couple of simple questions first:
- Did you buy the game from a store or download it?
- If you bought it from the store, there are no scratches, dust, or hair on it is there?
- Your CD ROM drive is a current up to date model? (Something that isn't over a year old.)

Yeah...I've had mine crash simultaneously with other players before. It installed fine (although I may try to reinstall). Slightly different config (mainly chipset.)
AMD Athlon64 3200+ Winchester (Not OC'ed, 2GHz) <--Never runs any hotter than 45C
MSI Neo2-FIR (VIA K8T800 Chipset)
1GB (2x512) Dual Channel PC3200 DDR RAM
Chaintech nVidia GeForce FX5900XT <--I haven't tried checking its heat yet, but it has a nice fan and RAM heatsinks
1x120MM Fan in (Front) 2x80MM out (Top & Rear)
I'm going to blame it on my cheap 350w PSU for the time being, but it is strange that others crash at the same time.
I'm sure I've pissed a few people off in PvP...

I bought the retail version of the game at the store. The CD looks fine was no dust, scratches, or hair?.. lol anyway, yeah my optical drive is a DvD+/-R/W.

Im pretty sure it's a graphical issue.
Try reinstalling Guild Wars completely. As in..
Uninstall.
Run > regedit > HKEY_CURENT_USER...software..delete anything Guild Wars. D othe same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Reboot.
Install.
Try roling back your video card drivers / updateing

Try the suggested above.
Did you set your AA down to 0 and run the game to see if the error happens again?

I've tried reinstalling the game, and I've played with all the graphics settings on the lowest options.. and played the game with the graphics settings set to the highest options.. does not make a difference, either way it still crashes at random times.. even when on the highest settings i could play for hours before it crashes again. and yet on the lowest settings sometimes it would crash in 5 minutes.. very very annoying when you're trying to pass a mission and you're about done and it crashes! it's hard to find a decent group in some of the later missions.. anyway when did crashing become a game feature?

That doesn't sound like normal heat issues. It sounds like corrupted or missing files. The first thing I'd try if I was you would be to completely uninstall the game. After uninstall, check that the game directory is deleted. Then reinstall the game. I realize this is a pain, especially if you've got a dial-up connection, as you'll need to download the patches again.
Another question is why the files would be damaged/missing. I assume you haven't tried to modify your game client in any way, so it could be a damaged/overheating harddisk. If you're overclocking, you might want to use default speeds instead.
EDIT; oh yeah, and all the standard advice, e.g. install the latest graphics driver, run dxdiag to see that your directx installation isn't corrupt etc.

I've reinstalled the game about 4 times. Either by the CD or from GWSETUP.zip from guildwars.com. It still crashes and about twice so far when I went into Guildwars It made me run this "Data archive repair" thing it took about 2 minutes to finish and then Guildwars started up.
I've set my page file Initial size 0 and maximum size 0 and then defraged and then set the Initial size to 1024 and the Maximum size to 4096, ran scandisk, updates my chipset (via4in1) flashed my bios (asus-a8v-0219) tried 3 different nvidia drivers, currently im using the newest. Tried my old geforce ti4200 card, ran the game with my sound disabled, disabled everything in the background. Ran gw in window mode, used highest GW settings, used lowest GW settings. ran memtest, adjusted my pagefile, reinstalled the latest directx, checked my cpu and vid card temps, reinstalled the game about 4 times, using the CD and then tried reinstalling using the GWsetup.zip from guildwars.com. Playing GW with -noshaders, reported the errors to ANET in eventvwr.msc, ran Aquamark bechmark test, ran Prime95 Torturetest and sent ANET my comp info thru a program called Everest Home Edition.
i don't know if this is related but I was playing last night, and after it loaded the first HoH battle, the screen turned all black like this

Well, if ANet doesn't know, then I'm highly unlikely to be able to guess what it might be...
You don't see any weirdness in any of those programs (e.g. the torturetest, aquamark etc)? No missing textures, tearing, little white dots...?
Any problems with _anything_ other than GW?
Does the problem show up immediately, or only when you've been playing for a while?
You don't use any form of disk encryption/compression, or anything else which might make files inaccessible (e.g. if you install as Administrator, and play as User)? <yeah, I'm really reaching now>

latez - Try some of the older nVidia Driver versions.

What graphics card are you using? Are you overheating? If you right-click your desktop, go to Properties, Settings, Advanced, GeForce tab, and go onto Image Quality, is the slider all the way to the right?
Also, how much RAM do you have?

After you uninstall, make sure you delete the C:\Program Files\Guild Wars directory. If you don't, you haven't uninstalled it completely.
Then download and reinstall GW from the client.

Another GW issue that devs won't get to troubleshoot because Tech Support was too damn lazy to report it.

there's so many to choose from but ok ill choose one.
I am using a BFG Geforce 6800 128 mb http://www.bfgtech.com/6800OC.html
The image quality is set to : Quality. In guild wars my GFX card temp is around 50ÂșC. I have 1GB of ram.
I thought it was a problem with my GFX card, so I tried my old geforce ti4200 which I used to play GW with on my old computer(on my old computer GW never crashed ) So i was playing with my old card and it crashed with same kind of error.

No aquamark was fine. Torture test reported no errors.(its not a visual test) Right now my comp is fine other than GW.
Those screenshots I posted, well that has never happend since and never happend before. I was just playing for about 20 mins and it just happend. Once I restarted my computer it went back to normal.
I can use all the administrative tools, so im logged in as admin.

just when i thouhg Neverwinter was the bugiest of them all..
2 words..... Scr3w Anet and why MIss Gray is only there for unusefull reason.....like nothing she has made , since she is the relationist..has helped at making this game better.
its prolly not her job but........why so many technical issues that are prolly becuse of the game it self.
trow rocks at me etc. edit this as you wich......all my games runs fine and Gabe can make a real game..even if it FPS........never saw a game like HL2, runing so fine , on any Cpu with Geforces Mx 400 series.
Guild wars is a pain to run, take 100% cpu etc
IM sure at least 25% of comunity are unstable : please reasure me its not the case

The game support staff told me "game client data is somehow becoming corrupt"
and told me to try my old hard drive. Is this really a HD problem. I can't try my old hard drive because i dont have it
